When it comes to places to see art in Calvert County, Annmarie Garden is a no-brainer. However, it’s not the only place where you can get your art fix. Try visiting some of these galleries and art exhibits around our county. In many cases, you’ll get a chance to discover local artists. In most cases, the art is for sale, should you see something in particular that strikes your fancy.
Medart Galleries
This Dunkirk shop offers custom framing in addition to art pieces for sale. Naturally, you will find art that’s worthy of custom framing here (some by local artists), but you can also find fused glass pieces and handcrafted pottery.

ArtWorks at 7th
This small gallery, which is just off the boardwalk in North Beach, was established by a local artists’ cooperative. It’s worth stopping in while you’re out and about. Display pieces are changed out often, so there is always something new. The gallery hosts monthly receptions that are open to the public.

CalvART Gallery
This gallery, located in the Prince Frederick Shopping Center, is always nice to visit. Like Artworks at 7th, it’s made up of a cooperative of Southern Maryland artists. Exhibitions change frequently, and the gallery hosts receptions every month. You can find art in several mediums, from paintings to jewelry to pottery.

Art Among The Stacks
You can enjoy art while browsing for books at the Prince Frederick and Twin Beaches branches of Calvert Library. Art among the Stacks features works with local themes, many of which were created by Southern Maryland artists and photographers.
Carmen’s gallery
This Solomons Island gallery and custom framing shop showcases works from local and international artists. In addition to paintings, you can see sculptures, textiles, etchings and ceramics, among other mediums. If you’re interested, you can also attend gallery shows and workshops.
