Calvert County has many great places to visit and activities to partake in with your family. We wanted to find out what our county’s favorites were so we asked our Facebook audience of more than 5,600+ people “Where is your favorite place to go as a family in Calvert County?” The results are in and below is the top three things to do as a family in Calvert County.
North Beach Farmers’ Market
Join the Town of North Beach each Friday night for the Famers’ Market and Classic Car Cruise In. This event starts at the beginning of May and lasts until mid-October, 6pm-9pm. The Farmers’ Market includes a wide variety of local items including: seasonal fruits, vegetables, wine, baked goods, flowers, and more! Don’t forget about the Classic Cars.
North Beach Boardwalk
There are many different events that happen on or around the North Beach Boardwalk throughout the year. You can view the End Hunger Dragon Boat Races, take a dive with the Polar Bear Plunge, enjoy the Friday night Farmers’ Market, or watch a movie on the beach. It’s a great place to take a stroll with your family. You can stop for ice-cream at the Cold Penguin or the Dairy Freez.
Solomons Island Boardwalk
The Solomons Island Boardwalk is a great place to visit with the family. Take a stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the beautiful views of the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge. You can stop at the playground and let the kids play, enjoy ice-cream from Cone Island, eat at one of the many restaurants lining the strip, or enjoy a stroll with your pet (on a leash of course). Solomons hosts different events throughout the year to enjoy with your family: The Christmas Walk in December, Fireworks for the 4th of July, and the Taste of Solomons a Food Festival Event.
Have you had a great experience at any of these or do you have another great activity for families? Leave a comment in the box below.
